A tender crop that should not be planted until danger of frost has passed. Plant seeds in 4 foot rows, one inch deep, putting 6 seeds per hill and spacing hills 3 feet apart. Gradually thin to one plant per hill. Three pounds of seed will plant one acre; 1⁄2 ounce will plant 100 feet of row.
