    Will MSMA kill bermuda grass?

    • Byrdie says:

MSMA will not harm bermuda grass. Used as directed, MSMA will help eliminate tough weeds and allow your bermuda to thrive. Depending on the heat, you may get some temporary yellowing of the bermuda, but it should bounce back within a week or so.

Will MSMA kill quackgrass without harming my turf grass? I live in Chicago.

    • Byrdie says:

MSMA is not the best choice for quackgrass. Because quackgrass is rhizomial (tubers growing under the soil) selective herbicides like MSMA do not have much affect. Your choices for eliminating quackgrass is to eith hit it with Roundup, which will kill everything, or apply a pre-emergent herbicide like Prodiamine. Give us a call if you have any other questions about this and we’ll do our best to walk you through your options.

Is it safe to use in a yard with small pets? Specifically dogs 15-20 lbs?

  10. B.W. Bailey says:

I live in the central part of Texas…San Angelo..Brownwood area.
I have a large amount of crabgrass in a small yard…prox 1000sq ft.
Its already thriving and not wanting to kill what other grass I have..
which is not very much. Do you think the MSMA 6 Plus will do the job??

  11. Stephanie Breckling says:

I am in a new home with lots of Bermuda grad and weeds. As I am out there pulling weeds today I was thinking how I wish I could go to home depot and buy some MSMA. Long ago someone at home depot told me to use this product. There was mostly crab grass and little anything else. It took me a few years of planting seeds and killing weeds (the yard had been neglected for many many years) but if it wasn’t for MSMA I wouldn’t have had my beautiful yard.
I haven’t needed any in years until now in a new home. My question is…is this the same old MSMA I used to buy art home depot?

I just came across your website while searching on ways to control sandburrs. I live in FL and I saw that it isn’t registered here. What are my options then?
    Thanks

  14. Tammy says:

This spring, we used MSMA in our Central Texas lawn that was 90% sand burs, and it has done a tremendous job of killing the burs. Unfortunately, weeding by hand is the only other option we have found to be effective against sand burs (ouch!).
The sparse underlying grass was native buffalograss and bermuda, and both have come back to fill in the areas previously dominated by the sand burs.
We plan to use the MSMA again next year in hopes of eliminating more of the burs. Thanks, Stone Brothers!

Is MSMA the best option to rid my yard in central Alabama of Bahia grass? If not, what should I use and when?

    • Byrdie says:

MSMA is very effective against Bahia grass. As with all products, use MSMA as directed on the label. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call us.

  18. Terry Johnson says:

Is your product (MSMA) available in California. If not, can it still be ordered out of state from you–any suggestions? I have a problem with Dallis grass. If I can order it, what is the cost, ordering process, etc. ? Thanks, Terry J.
